Happy 2024: A New Chapter in Our Family Travel Tales

Hello, fellow travelers and friends!

As we step into 2024, it’s hard not to reflect on how far we’ve come since this blog’s inception in 2019, right after a memorable trip to Milan with my then 2.5-year-old. It’s been an incredible journey, punctuated by moments of joy, chaos, and growth.

Back in 2019, after returning from Milan, this blog was like a new souvenir – full of potential but left on the shelf as life whirled around. It sat quietly, gathering digital dust, as we navigated the unexpected twists and turns that life threw our way. And then came the pandemic, which, like many of you, put our travel plans on an indefinite hold.

But that wasn’t the only change – our family grew! From a bustling crew of four, we welcomed a set of twins, doubling the fun and the frenzy.

During those homebound days, our adventures were limited to backyard campouts and living room fort-building extravaganzas. Our passports gathered dust, but our dreams of future travels grew ever more vivid.

As the world slowly emerged from the pandemic shadows in 2023, we tiptoed back into travel, mostly sticking to domestic road trips. Ah, the tales I have from those journeys! (Stay tuned, as I’ll be sharing those stories in upcoming posts.)

But now, in 2024, it feels like we’re on the cusp of returning to some form of normalcy, or at least our version of it. This year, we’re kicking off with a bang! Our travel calendar is already bustling with plans. We’re starting with a trip to Atlanta, Georgia, over Presidents Day weekend. The kids are buzzing with excitement, and honestly, so am I.

Spring break is promising to be an epic adventure as we head to Los Angeles and San Diego. Sun, surf, and hopefully a bit of relaxation (or as relaxed as one can be with four kids in tow!).

And for the grand summer escapade, we’re planning a circuit through Toronto, Montreal, and Quebec City. I’m thrilled at the prospect of introducing the kids to the diverse cultures and languages of these magnificent cities.

As we embark on these adventures, I hope to share not just our experiences but also the tips and tricks we pick up along the way – from managing travel logistics with a big family to keeping everyone entertained (and sane) during long journeys.

Here’s to a year filled with adventure, laughter, and a whole lot of family fun. Happy 2024, everyone! Let’s make it an unforgettable year of explorations and cherished memories.

Stay tuned, and travel on!
